I am loving the series. It keeps getting better.
This is the kind of stuff I have always noticed about buildings in my neighborhood, but now, thanks to your series, I have a vocabulary to express it.

I too am finding myself talking about the function of buildings whenever I'm downtown. I especially love the points about making sure that buildings are built with the pedestrian in mind, instead of receding from the sidewalk and putting in parking lots.
These episodes are informative and enlightening, wish they could be put on public broadcasting like PBS or something of the sort.

Brian, Yes, Bourdain was in town. Tried like mad to get him to the Pink (and so many other places) but he still hit a few cool ones. He was here for three days! Episode will air early summer/late spring. Yes, stay tuned!

Great stuff! So glad I found your site. Tielman has changed my mind set when I am in the heart of downtown Buffalo. I find myself talking about the "function" of the architecture are it relates to the surrounding environment and meaningful urban living. Thanks, Tim! I think. ha Seriously, keep up the great work.

John - When will you be posting more Nelson Starr epidsodes? Was Bourdain really in Buffalo on that snowy Sunday night?
