ALL ACCESS PASS with Nelson Starr | Series Premiere

Episode 1 – Series Premiere -
In the pilot episode, Nelson confronts deep-seated fears in a visit to the vaunted Oliver’s, the pinnacle of Buffalo fine dining; also, a whirlwind tour across continental Europe courtesy of Bistro Europa.

    Hey,

We’re working to get this up by Friday – noon at the latest. So far, I’m very pleased! You’re going to get a real kick out of it! Fans of our earlier work won’t be disappointed!

    with Love and hot sauce,
    Nelson

  2. Nelson Starr Says:

    Friends,

Sorry for the delay. In the meantime, check out our other new show, “Adventures in Buffaloland, with Tim Tielman”. It also rocks!!!

    Thanks for your patience,
    Nelson

  3. Ron Eggleton Says:

Thanks for the heads up, Nelson. I look forward to seeing the show.

  4. Paul DeNigris Says:

Two of the things I miss the most about Buffalo – Nelson Starr’s great music and the unbelievable food – all wrapped up in a slickly-produced package! Awesome work, guys. Keep ‘em coming!

  5. Keith Says:

    Damn it! Now I’m hungry!

  6. Keith Says:

BTW- check the time stamp clock. It’s an hour behind. Otherwise.. great show! ;)

  7. guillermo Says:

Nelson, don’t kid yourself. Oliver’s should not be letting in punks like you.

    Just kidding. Sort of.

Joking aside, I am extremely impressed with the production of the show. Everything, including (and most importantly) the actual presentation of the food, was very well done. Both restaurants came off as definite “must-visit-soon’s”! :)

    Hats off to all involved!

  8. Tahooter Says:

Nice kick-off. Been to both restaurants and the clip captured the fine qualities of both very well. Would like to get more content regarding owners, chefs, history of places, and receipes–so perhaps a companion follow-up site for those details that can’t be captured in a short video timeframe. Oh, and I do miss the leather jacket Nelson, but maybe you’ll dress down again when you get back home to West Village, Allentown eateries.

  9. herewego Says:

  30. Unkchuck Says:

It is food, not football, that makes Buffalo a world-class city. The Bills may let us down, but Buffalo cuisine never does. Nelson Starr may well have finally discovered the key to revitalizing our much maligned city — a key that has eluded politicians and other Buffalo Boosters for years. Nelson’s beautifully produced video reminds us again what a major, multi-talented guy he is, and what good fortune that he has kept his roots planted in our lovable, hapless hometown. Let’s hope his work finds an audience beyond the eastern borders of Lake Erie.

  31. Denise Says:

Nelson, Keep up the good work. We need someone with an edgy, up front, in your face attitude promoting our area. Buffalo is known for great people & FOOD. Many people can relate to your style. Nice job!

  32. Ed G Says:

Great job Nelson on getting Anthony Bourdain to come to Buffalo! Buffalo really needs something positive rather than a tarnished image of lost Super Bowls and Stanley Cups. I’m sure he’ll love the food there!!!

  33. John G Says:

Great show! The production quality is outstanding, and it’s great to see something that presents one of Buffalo’s greatest qualities. Nelson, you are quite the professional on-screen. Good luck!

  34. Herewego Says:

John G: Really? who taught you production and lighting?
If they step it up, this can be something great. It’s on the right track.

Admin: why edit the comments? lame.

  35. admin Says:

Herewego: I hear your critique and agree; we do hope to step it up. As it is we are a one man crew (no sound man) shooting on the fly with zero budget (and Oliver’s was super dark!) — but I think you’ll see vast technical improvements in next episodes.

And if anyone wants to come help as volunteer crew (boom mic operator?) on a future shoot, let me know.

    Thanks!
    -John Paget, Director

Nelson…Great concept and fantastic execution. Can’t wait to see the next episode

Oh my Lord – someone just sent me a link to your site – I am so impressed and missing home more than ever!!! Oliver’s – amazing – had my wedding shower there 39 years ago and the place was just as wonderful then – our family was in the restaurant business for years and I am so looking forward to watching the other episodes – the chocolate one was great too – although I prefer Watson’s sponge!!! Keep up the great work – I will try some of these place when I am back for my next visit!

  43. denis Says:

This sow is in line with our “Food Club” that 6 of us formed last summer. We were discussing all the restaurants in “town” that we’ve never quite gotten around to visiting; so we get together each month with each couple picking the place in rotation. So far we’ve gone to Viking, Torches, OConnell’s, Salvatore’s (it’s been since the ’60′s),Scharf’s. Bacchas and next week will be Havana House. Each place has bee fun, and delicious; we look forward to new explorations each month (our “potential” list is already a score long). I encourage, nay implore, fellow “Buffalonians” to get out to local eateries (be they $100 per plate or a neighborhood tavern) and resist the lure of all the chains (& yes I do go to chains weekly too). The more I travel, the more I feel that WNY restaurants compare to those almost anywher else in the country.
Nelson, keep up the good work and I hope to see you on Tony’s show soon.

  44. gail s Says:

why would anyone wanna live anywhere but here? this video portrays buffalo as the greatest & most diverse food city in the world, which of course it is. the two restaurants represented gave me the distinct impression of being in someplace like toronto…only better. between the food, chocolate, sports, people, &, most of all, music, how lucky we are to live here. buffalo is the BEST!

  45. Laura Says:

I’m blown away! You should get the key to the city.

  46. Pauline Says:

Great, great, great. Thoroughly enjoyed it!!! Glad to see you playing also :-D Keep goin’!
    Pauline Digati-DuFrane

  47. JOHN DICKERSON Says:

Ok. St. Patrick’s Day has come and gone. And no new episode ? Hmmmmm………

    ; )

  48. Chef Binks Says:

    Love It!!!!!

    Oliver’s kicks ass.
So many great chefs(and new restaurants) have come from the kitchen of Henry’s iconic restaurant.
As for the second installment ,don’t even get me started on chocolate….addiction is a serious problem ……thanks for being an enabler….I really appreciate it….no really………..:)

Keep up the good work Nelson.
Western NY can never get enough exposure or credit for its abundance and diversity of high quality eateries.

Keep giving us more “Food That Rocks”

  49. JOHN DICKERSON Says:

Perhaps you meant Easter. Just after Easter.
    Patiently waiting for Episode 3
    Thnx

Making a personalized image e-book for your child with alphabets can be an uncomplicated as effectively as appealing undertaking. Usually keep in mind that kids really like issues that are manufactured just for them. Does your kid enjoy a certain animal or colour, or activity? If sure, then customize your ABC photograph e-book with illustrations of all his/her preferred items. You can also use a person web page for every letter, as this allows you to add more facts pertaining to just about every letter. For instance, the letter “M” can incorporate names of toys, animals, and any other term starting off with “M”. Does your baby acknowledge autos on the highway? Then consider to associate the names of his favored automobiles with each alphabet.
